Tuscany Day 2

 After 3 days in the city we decide to stay put today , enjoy the local scenery and the pool😎

Tuscany Day 1

 We left our car at a park & ride outside the city so we take a tram to collect it and then its only a one hour drive to the farmhouse we booked, converted to hotel/apartments in the middle of the vineyards in the Tuscan hills.

We get a complementary bottle of the wine which grapes grow all around us. Absolute bliss!

Florence Day 4

 Before we leave for Tuscany we want to reproduce a picture from 16 years ago 😂

We also visit the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David  and many other beautiful works of art.

Florence Day 3; Sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo

 Piazzale Michelangelo was 20 and 16 year ago still a free parking spot where we parked our car as we went into the city. Giselle knew it is now a favourite tourist spot to watch the sunset. And it turns out a spectacular sunset indeed!

Florence Day 3

 In the afternoon we do the more typical tourist things and enter the cathedral, it's basement and (separate) museum. The latter is very new and display very nicely some of original great artwork that was used in the cathedral.

Florence Day 3; Pharmacy!

 Giselle has again an interesting suggesting, to visit the oldest pharmacy in the world; "Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella", established in 1221! It is a beautiful place and well worth a visit!

Florence Day 2

 Giselle takes us to an old cinema converted to a bookshop this morning. Its a cool place, and you can still watch movies there 😊

After that we visit the market and in the evening we had hoped to climb the 'Duomo'. Giselle was up there 16 years ago too! But nowadays you now have too book that weeks ahead apparently. So we climb 'Giotto's Bell Tower' instead. Which has similar views

We finish the night with some drink at a terrace beside the river Arno

Florence Day 2; Hotel Paris

Our hotel 'Paris' is very central, its an old palace building started in 1599! At some Elisa Bonaparte (yes sister of) lived here with her husband. We only have one room, but it is the biggest room in the hotel and indeed fit for a king!
