Sierra Nevada Hike

Today, we decided to give ourselves a break from the bikes. While most of the group headed to the beach, Robbie and I opted for a hike in the mountains just above the village.

Thanks to an unusually wet spring, the landscape was greener than ever—almost as green as Ireland! It was more beautiful than any botanical garden I’ve ever visited. Everything was just perfect; the variety was incredible, with wild flowers and fragrant Mediterranean herbs everywhere filling the air.

We even spotted another Ibex along the way!

In total, we climbed 950 meters. For the final leg of the trek, we headed back along the same river we ran earlier this week. This time, however, we crossed it via a very wobbly—and officially closed—hanging bridge. It was a bit of an adrenaline rush and a really cool way to end the hike.
